poles snapping one in half. happened around 1:00 on route 107 north. our photographer on the scene said two people were thrown from the car and rushed to separate hospitals. another car was involved in the crash and was towed away. right now unclear if anyone in that car was hurt. route 107 remains closed right now. we will be checking with state police all morning. 4:33. happening today, a convicted drug dealer accused of shooting a boston police officer is head a boston police officer is >> julie: the officer is already out of the hospital and doing well. and a new report say a problem at the scene may have saved the officer's life. fox25's jessica reyes is live in boston this morning with the new information. jess? >> hi, julie, good morning to you. that suspect will be in court here in dorchester in just a couple of hours. and new this morning, the globe is reporting that the gun he used on friday may have jammed, which may have saved that officer's life. now today, suspect brit henry will be from court and allegedly shot at boston police officer several times during a

he is a known drug dealer in dorchester and does not have a driver's license. the officer has since been released from the hospital and his boss commissioner bill evan said he is talking about coming back to work. headily was not hurt in the shooting and is facing several charges, and we are hearing from commissioner bill evans right now. take a listen. >> he is home. you know, he is with his family. and he is doing well. he is a strong kid. obviously he is a hero in our mind. and, you know, he's doing great and, you know, he's doing great. >> reporter: and we will have you know he was not hurt in the shooting and he is facing several charges. he will face the judge for the first time in dorchester late other continue morning and in just 30 minutes, we are hearing more details on his long criminal record. live in dorchester, jessica reyes, fox25 news. also happening today, a man charged charged in the death of a 2-year-old girl from boston will be in court. prosecutors say michael mccarthy killed bella bond and

harbor. the girl was known as baby doe after her remains were found on deer island. her mother rachelle bond is facing charges. the suspect in the deadly malden hit-and-run is due in court. an arrest was made yesterday, and as of now the district attorney has not released the person's name or the charges. 71-year-old yai chen was hit right after christmas outside her apartment building. chen's neighbors tell fox25 they are relieved their friend will have some justice. >> thanks god, you know. really deserve to be off the >> oh, yes. what a relief. i am glad. >> julie: the suspect will be arraigned later this morning, and, of course, we will be there. the suspect in another deadly shun also under arrest. this happened before dawn saturday in worcester. frank call was hit on west boylston street and found hours later along with debris from the car. 21-year-old vint green is facing multiple charges including motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation. we are updating a big story

young boys fell through the ice on a pond right behind their schools. fox25's michael henrich is live this morning at the scene where total strangers, michael, raced in to save the two kids. >> reporter: an incredible act of heroism, but still a tenuous situation as one of the boys remains in the hospital and the brockton school superintendent say that counselors and support staff will be on hand at the schools this morning to help their peers cope with this reality that they are dealing with, this trouble with, this troubling situation. just to fill new. on saturday, two boy, ages 9 and 12 fell into an icy pond here by the plough academy. fox25 spoke with the three fox25 spoke with the three boys they were playing with that ran for help and flagged down drivers to jumped into the water. three people leaped in and rescued one of the boys, but the other was under water for several more minutes before fire fighters could respond and

one of the boys who ran for help told fox25 how he watched his friends fall in. >> when the ice broke, i started crying. so i went to my mom's house and got my uncle. >> nobody could see basically in there, feeling around, looking, going underneath, coming up, jumping. >> reporter: second person you heard from is one of the people who jumped in and tried rescue those boys. both boys were hospitalized. we are told by witnesses the 12-year-old was in critical condition at the time. of course, we will continue to work to get updates on that boy's condition, how he is doing this morning as his peers again have counselors available to deal with this new reality. live in brockton, michael henrich, fox25 morning news. this morning, students at one winchendon elementary school will be back in class after a potential norovirus outbreak. as we told you on friday, memorial elementary school was

went home sick. crews spent the weekend cleaning the school making it safe for students and staff today. a drunk driving crash on the south shore remains under investigation as the driver faces a judge. police say caylin kaiser was drunk when she crossed the center line on main street in weymouth and hit that police cruiser head-on. keizer's passenger had to be rescued with the jaws of life. all three people involved were brought to the hospital. the officer and the passenger have already been released. this morning presidential candidate donald trump is returning to new hampshire. the republican plans to attend an event in wyndham at 11:00 this morning. fox25 will be there. the newspaper primary is just four weeks from tomorrow. trump remains the front runner in the granite state but trails senator ted cruz in iowa. among democrats vermont senator bernie sanders is gaining ground. a new report shows sanders within three points of hillary clinton. the caucus is january 1.

vandalism at massachusetts donald trump headquarters. this spray paint covered the windows in littleton. it was discovered on saturday morning. they scrawled the words "pig" and "trump go home." and other messages we can't repeat or say on television. police are combing the the culprit. >> you have the right if you don't like a candidate to tell them you don't like them. you certainly the right to protest against that candidate, but you certainly do not have the right to do -- to do a criminal act. >> that office opened last month, and volunteers made quick work of cleaning up the vandalism. tomorrow, president barack obama will deliver his final state of the union address. white house officials say the president plans to focus on the broader, long-term issues that the country will face after his term ends next january. the the president is also expected to address gun control and the syrian refugee crisis. fox25 will have live coverage of the address tomorrow night at 9 and reaction on the fox25

the dow had the worst five-day start through the year on record. the dow down more than 1,000 point. concerns of china's economy played a big role. the stock market opens at 9:30 this morning and we will be keeping a close eye on the big board. that drop in oil prices do bring good news. canton and stoughton have some of the lowest gas prices. drivers can fill up in prestige for $$1.79 and $4 less at stoughton car wash. it could get cheaper. look what is happening. the wind is taking up moisture over the great lakes, filling some lake effect snow showers into not just new york, but even the fringes of new england even the fringes of new england. we have a couple in the berkshires now. we will have to keep an eye on those today to see how far inland they really reach. 7 a.m. going down to 34 in boston. your wind chill will be 24. it is going to be breezy all day long. noontime 32 degrees. it is going to feel like about 20. we have a lot of these on and off clouds. brighter along the coastline. a few more clouds further inland. 3 p.m. 32 degrees feeling like the lower 20s and by 7:00, 28 degrees, but feels like 17 because of that wind. so futurecast here really doesn't involve too much. you got to look pretty far north up around the concord, new hampshire area to see that best chance for a couple of those snow showers today, but even where we don't have those. i just want to point thought we could deal with a couple of flurries from time to time today and definitely some partly cloudy skies as i mentioned, especially a little

so this afternoon, boston gets all the way down 32 degrees. framingham, 32. lawrence, 31. 34 in norwood and plymouth, and 35 in hyannis. only in the 20s this afternoon in worcester, orange, keene, new hampshire, with those partly cloudy skies skies. and then tomorrow, we got that chance for snow, which temps in the upper 30s in boston. 40s again for southeastern massachusetts. but we are going to be really restricted to near freezing temperatures in keene and orange. fitchburg only up to 36 degrees here for your tuesday. the day will start dry, and you will even see a couple of breaks of sunshine first thing in the morning, but the clouds quickly thicken up and by 3 p.m., this is very light and patchy precipitation, but along the coastline, in the form of rain showers further away from the coastline, outside before 95 and 128, it will be in the form of a couple of those flurries. the real explosion of precipitation will come in during the evening hours and we will make changeover to all snow. a little bit cold on future

by 8 p.m. most locations seeing the snow showers and we will see the changeover to the cape. minor accumulation all the way across new englandwindy and breezy conditions continue on wednesday an wouldn't be surprised to get a couple more flurries over to and accumulations should be over in time for the wednesday morning commute. most of this falling on tuesday night. again this coastline where we have this pale shading or coating up to possibly an inch of snow, and one to three in that deeper shading outside of 95 and 128. i think most spots, you are getting one or two inches. just want to give you the opportunity to see a little bit more. the best chance the further north and west you get which is why i am putting southern vermont in the higher category range with a little over 3 inches. not a big weather maker but enough to treat those tuesday night roads and wednesday morning could be visual delays because of that. otherwise windy with flurries on wednesday. by thursday, partly cloudy. 17 in the morning. 31 in the afternoon. friday is our brighter day

35-year-old ashley olson was found strangled in her apartment. her boyfriend and her landlord found her body after she haven't been seen or heard from for days. olson was from florida. police and the fbi are investigating whether or not the shooting of a philadelphia police officer could be tied to a terror group. last thursday, officer jessie hartnet was ambushed in his police cruiser. police say the suspect confessed pledging allegiance to isis. over the weekend, a woman stopped an officer warning of other radicalized men who are targeting police. the woman reportedly said there is at least three others in the philadelphia area. officer hartnet is recovering. the suspect is being held without bail. a town in florida is just starting to pick up the pieces after a powerful tornado nearly destroyed it. the twister hit cape coral this weekend with winds up to 132 miles per hour. the devastation is being compared to hurricane charlie. as of last night, 1600 people are still without power.
